Read this guide if you want to explore Venice, one of the most romantic cities in Italy, as a local.

People often ask me for advice on what to do and what to see beyond the “classic multi-visited” touristic destinations of Venice. Sometimes it is difficult to talk about the things we love most, and so it is for me: talking about one of the most known cities in the world for beauty, romance and the particularity of its structure like Venice, becomes difficult for those who have lived intensely there for several years.
On the other hand it is necessary to let people know its beauty, especially in a period in which the city is recovering from the post-pandemic tourism crisis.
All this tourism, obviously, with due respect for the case, maintaining a behavior of "conscious tourism", especially in a city that, not surprisingly, is defined as "As beautiful as it is fragile".
Here is a short guide for those who want to orient themselves not only among the most famous and symbolic places of the lagoon, walking and admiring the city among its streets and canals, but also visiting “bacari”, restaurants and museums which, for those who do not usually know the city as a "local", it would be difficult to meet.
For those who didn’t know, Venice is divided into six districts (respectively: Dorsoduro, Santa Croce, San Polo, San Marco, Cannaregio and Castello), then adding Giudecca.
For this reason, the indicated places will be divided by specifying the district in which they are located.
Here they are, have a nice visit!
